As the practice shows, Magento 2.x has an array of changes in terms of catalog management as well. 

It comes with buil-in, more flexible swatch image functionality, thanks to which Magento users can easily add product miniatures instead of attribute values to product page. 

The logic of configurable product pricing has changed and now simple product price overrides main configurable product price.  

Group price does not take separate tab in price settings and is configured as tier price, though with customer group assigning.
