I am cutomizing prestashop 1.7.2.4 default theme and wanted to replace every page that has the word "shipping" with the word "delivery". Say, replace shipping cost with delivery cost and shipping method with delivery method in checkout. tpl files for Prestashop 1.7.2.4 seem to be different from those of 1.6x

An easieist way is to use "translations" tool in PrestaShop that is available under localization > translations section
you can change wording "shipping" and "delivery" to other - just "translate" these words for english language
