Well, if you are using prestashop 1.6, in the admin area there is an option in modules section to disable module on mobiles, tablets etc. Try there.

I will use the Featured Products block module, to display the featured products list in a cms page. For customCMS, you need to open up homefeatured.php, located at modules/homefeatured.

All colors, text size etc. is set within the invoice file. I think you should need to change the text font style in invoice.
e.g: if you choose to increase the text size - <div style="font-size: 7pt; color: #444"> change to <div style="font-size: 8pt; color: #444">

There are no such considerations about Prestashop that it's themes are slow. It all depends upon the website speed.
