I tried it second ago well, it's pretty fast, but it can't be free as prestashop team said. i asked on support about limits.
1) no doatabase access,
2) there is a some performance limits,
3) you can't use there own templates
4) and you can't even use there own modules.
5) you can't apply overrides in handy way
and regarding to themes - the only one way to change theme is ...you have to but them from addons store.
this is what "free" means exactly :-)
